This study develops a thermodynamic–kinetic model for basic oxygen furnace tapping and validates its accuracy under near‐equilibrium and far‐from‐equilibrium initial conditions. Comparison with a reference model demonstrates its broader applicability. The model further reveals the evolution of key steel and slag components, providing new transparency ...

Alloying Strategies for Secondary Hardening in High‐Boron Cold Work Tool Steels: A Comparative Study
The influence of tungsten, vanadium, manganese, and silicon on the microstructure and tempering behavior of high boron tool steels is investigated. It is shown that tungsten contributes very little, whereas vanadium leads to tempering carbides, detected by atom probe tomography. Manganese and silicon enable solid solution strengthening. A high hardness

Improving the Cleanness of Low‐Carbon Tube Steel Under Steel Plant Conditions
Reducing the number of nonmetallic inclusions in high‐quality steel rolled products is of great importance for all steel plants. One of the ways to decrease the size and quantity of alumina and silicate nonmetallic inclusions could be suppressing their formation during steel tapping from the BOF converter to the ladle.
