Beyond Perfect Scores: Leakage-Aware Multi-Corpus Evaluation of Low-Resolution ToF and Depth Gesture Recognition

open access: yesTechnologies
Touchless interfaces for embedded systems require models that are both compact and evaluated under protocols that reflect realistic generalization. Public low-resolution gesture datasets can obscure this requirement because repeated samples, temporal ...

Depth Image Coding Using Entropy-Based Adaptive Measurement Allocation

open access: yesEntropy, 2014
Differently from traditional two-dimensional texture images, the depth images of three-dimensional (3D) video systems have significant sparse characteristics under the certain transform basis, which make it possible for compressive sensing to represent ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

From patient advocacy to patient‐driven research: Building active partnerships beginning at the bench to reach the bedside

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Research is strongest when conducted alongside patients, not just about them. Patient research organizations help integrate patient perspectives into research priorities, study design, and scientific meetings, leading to meaningful patient outcomes and development of relevant therapies.
