Calibrating the GAMIL3-1° climate model using a derivative-free optimization method [PDF]
Parameterization in climate models often involves parameters that are poorly constrained by observations or theoretical understanding alone. Manual tuning by experts can be time-consuming, subjective, and prone to underestimating uncertainties. Automated

RF cavity design exploiting a new derivative-free trust region optimization approach
In this article, a novel derivative-free (DF) surrogate-based trust region optimization approach is proposed. In the proposed approach, quadratic surrogate models are constructed and successively updated.

Derivative-free nonlinear optimization filter simplex [PDF]
Derivative-free nonlinear optimization filter simplexThe filter method is a technique for solving nonlinear programming problems. The filter algorithm has two phases in each iteration. The first one reduces a measure of infeasibility, while in the second the objective function value is reduced.

Curvature-Aware Derivative-Free Optimization
The paper discusses derivative-free optimization (DFO), which involves minimizing a function without access to gradients or directional derivatives, only function evaluations. Classical DFO methods, which mimic gradient-based methods, such as Nelder-Mead and direct search have limited scalability for high-dimensional problems. Zeroth-order methods have

ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) neuroblastoma, FOXR2‐activated, is a recently recognized entity in the WHO CNS5 classification, defined by activation of the FOXR2 transcription factor and unique histopathological features. This review synthesizes available literature and pooled clinical data, providing insight into demographics ...

A Hybrid Stochastic Deterministic Algorithm for Solving Unconstrained Optimization Problems
In this paper, a new deterministic method is proposed. This method depends on presenting (suggesting) some modifications to existing parameters of some conjugate gradient methods.

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.
