Greenlees-May duality in a nutshell [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Mathematics and its Applications, 2019
This expository article delves deep into Greenlees-May Duality which is widely thought of as a far-reaching generalization of Grothendieck's Local Duality.

The role of category ambiguity in normal and impaired lexical processing: can you paint without the paint?

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2023
IntroductionMany words are categorially ambiguous and can be used as a verb (to paint) or as a noun (the paint) due to the presence of unpronounced morphology or “zero morphology”.

Generating the bounded derived category and perfect ghosts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show, for a wide class of abelian categories relevant in representation theory and algebraic geometry, that the bounded derived categories have no non-trivial strongly finitely generated thick subcategories containing all perfect complexes.

Deformations and derived categories

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Fourier, 2002
In this paper we generalize the deformation theory of representations of a profinite group developed by Schlessinger and Mazur to deformations of objects of the derived category of bounded complexes of pseudocompact modules for such a group. We show that such objects have versal deformations under certain natural conditions, and we

Demazure descent and representations of reductive groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce the notion of Demazure descent data on a triangulated category C and define the descent category for such data. We illustrate the definition by our basic example. Let G be a reductive algebraic group with a Borel subgroup B.

The hitchhiker guide to Categorical Banach space theory. Part II.

open access: yesExtracta Mathematicae, 2021
What has category theory to offer to Banach spacers? In this second part survey-like paper we will focus on very much needed advanced categorical and homological elements, such as Kan extensions, derived category and derived functor or Abelian hearts of ...

Uniqueness of dg enhancements for the derived category of a Grothendieck category

open access: yes, 2018
We prove that the derived category of a Grothendieck abelian category has a unique dg enhancement. Under some additional assumptions, we show that the same result holds true for its subcategory of compact objects.

On locally coherent hearts

open access: yes, 2017
We show that, under particular conditions, if a t-structure in the unbounded derived category of a locally coherent Grothendieck category restricts to the bounded derived category of its category of finitely presented objects, then its heart is itself a ...
