Şeyh Pir Havend muhtemelen 12’inci yüzyılın ikinci yarısı ya da 13. yüzyılın başlarında Tokat kazasının Komanat nahiyesine bağlı Şeyh köyünde bir zâviye kurmuştur. Aynı kazanın Komanat ve Kafirni nahiyelerine bağlı üç köy ve bir mezranın malikâne gelirlerini bu zâviyeye vakfetmiştir.
