Numerical solution to the Complex 2D Helmholtz Equation based on Finite Volume Method with Impedance Boundary Conditions

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2016
In this paper, the numerical solution to the Helmholtz equation with impedance boundary condition, based on the Finite volume method, is discussed. We used the Robin boundary condition using exterior points.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING THE EMOTIONAL FACTOR IN ERGONOMICS AND DESIGN

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Design and Engineering Graphics, 2015
Considering the quick development in technology, it is more and more necessary to place the problem of studying the effects of the emotions created, both in terms of design and ergonomics.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

General Explicit Solution of Planar Weakly Delayed Linear Discrete Systems and Pasting Its Solutions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Planar linear discrete systems with constant coefficients and delays x(k+1)=Ax(k)+∑l=1n‍Blxl(k-ml) are considered where k∈ℤ0∞:={0,1,…,∞}, m1,m2,…,mn are constant integer delays ...

Descriptive Geometry and Spatial Ability-Correlation and Mutual Impact at Engineering Students

open access: yesTehnički Vjesnik, 2020
Spatial abilities are recognized as one of the main factors for success in technical (STEM) professions, especially in the field of architecture and civil engineering. Given that this kind of competence is not paid enough attention to in the early stages

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Representation of the Solutions of Linear Discrete Systems with Constant Coefficients and Two Delays

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
The purpose of this paper is to develop a method for the construction of solutions to initial problems of linear discrete systems with constant coefficients and with two delays Δx(k)=Bx(k-m)+Cx(k-n)+f(k), where m,n∈ℕ, m≠n, are fixed, k=0,…,∞, B=(bij), C=(
