Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Experimental Study on Rapeseed Drying Characteristics with Magnesium Sulfate as Solid Desiccant

open access: yesMolecules
Rapeseed is a valuable oilseed crop, and efficient drying plays a crucial role in preserving its quality. Because of the high moisture content in rapeseed, drying using the conventional methods may cause it to overheat.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Exergy Analysis of a Desiccant Cooling Cycle Recovering Heat from Hot Exhaust

open access: yes, 2012
The manufacturing processes of industrial gases are major consumers of energy as electricity or fossil fuel. A big part of this energy ends up as heat in the process gas at temperatures around 150°C.

Enhancemet and analysis of a hybrid liquid desiccant based-cooling system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Air conditioning has traditionally been achieved by vapour compression equipment, which is considered very efficient when handling loads characterised by high sensible load fraction.

Liquid Desiccant Air-Conditioning Systems

open access: yes, 2021
The liquid desiccant air-conditioning system has been identified as a promising technology that has the potential of decoupling and preciously controlling the latent and sensible cooling loads of air-conditioning spaces. The issues of moulds and bacteria

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Experimental and simulative analysis of a microtrigeneration system based on an air handling unit with desiccant wheel

open access: yes, 2011
During last years, air conditioning demand is spreading, both in the commercial (shops, warehouses, offices, schools…) and in the residential sector.
