A completely transparent, adhesively bonded soda-lime glass block masonry system

open access: yesJournal of Facade Design and Engineering, 2015
A pioneering, all transparent, self-supporting glass block facade is presented in this paper. Previously realized examples utilize embedded metal components in order to obtain the desired structural performance despite the fact that these elements ...

Structure design and finite element analysis of box type cargo picking robot clamp type end effector

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
At present, the box type cargo picking robot mostly adopts the sucker type end-effector in the logistics industry in china. In the light of the disadvantages and limitation of the complex heavy pneumatic devices used in the existing sucker type end ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Multi-objective optimization system for plant layout design (3rd report, Interactive multi-objective optimization technique for pipe routing design)

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2018
Plot plan drawings in the process and power industries are considered key decision-making documents for projects and are normally initiated in the pre-contract, conceptual, and developmental stages of a proposal.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Diagnostic systems in DEMO: engineering design issues

open access: yes, 2014
The diagnostic systems of DEMO that are mounted on or near the torus, whether intended for the monitoring and control functions of the engineering aspects or the physics behaviour of the machine, will have to be designed to suit the hostile nuclear ...
