Desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma

Child's Nervous System, 2003
Desmoplastic infantile gangliogliomas are rare intracranial tumors that mostly occur in the first 2 years of life. They are exclusively supratentorial, generally have a voluminous size, and are partially cystic. Histologically they are characterized by a divergent astrocytic and ganglionic differentiation and a prominent desmoplastic stroma; more ...

Desmoplastic Nevus Versus Desmoplastic Melanoma

2014
Among the melanocytic lesions with most difficult differential diagnosis we should include those with spindle and fibrous stroma (i.e., desmoplastic features). This is true not only because both benign and malignant melanocytic lesions may show these morphologic features (desmoplastic nevus and desmoplastic melanoma), but also since other, non ...

Desmoplastic diffuse mesothelioma

The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1982
Twenty-seven cases of desmoplastic diffuse malignant mesothelioma (26 pleural, one peritoneal) are described. In 19 cases the tumor cell type was sarcomatous and in six others it was biphasic (malignant elements of both epithelial and mesenchymal aspect). There were only two cases where the tumor cell type was purely epithelial. The clinical course was

Desmoplastic Infantile Ganglioglioma

Pediatric and Developmental Pathology, 1999
We present the clinical, anatomic, and laboratory findings in a 4-month-old child with desmosplastic infantile ganglioglioma. Microtubule-associated protein-2 (AP18) and neuron-specific B-tubulin (TUJ-1) were more sensitive in detecting immature neural elements than synaptophysin.

Desmoplastic Nevus: Clinicopathologic Keynotes

The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 2009
We describe 3 cases of desmoplastic nevus with special emphasis on some repetitive dermoscopic and histopathologic features, which-if confirmed on larger series-could allow to identify desmoplastic nevus as a specific clinicopathologic entity within the spectrum of acquired melanocytic nevi.

Cutaneous Desmoplastic Melanoma

Advances in Anatomic Pathology, 2005
Desmoplastic melanoma (DM) is a fibrosing variant of spindle cell melanoma. It most often presents as an indurated lesion in chronically sun-damaged skin. Due to the lack of characteristic clinical features, early detection is uncommon. At the time of excision, the tumors usually extend into the reticular dermis or deeper.
