Detection and characterization of a rat parotid gland protein kinase that catalyzes phosphorylation of matured destrin at Ser-2

Archives of Oral Biology, 2003
Destrin, an actin-binding protein, is partly phosphorylated at Ser-2 (numbering on the matured form) in the resting rat parotid gland, and beta-adrenergic or cholinergic stimulation of this gland induces its dephosphorylation. In this study, we searched for the protein kinase involved in phosphorylation of destrin.

Complete amino acid sequences and phosphorylation sites, determined by Edman degradation and mass spectrometry, of rat parotid destrin- and cofilin-like proteins

Archives of Oral Biology, 1998
Beta-adrenergic or cholinergic stimulation of the rat parotid gland was earlier shown to induce dephosphorylation of endogenous destrin- and cofilin-like proteins, which are phosphorylated in resting cells at Ser residues probably present near the N-terminals. The primary structures and phosphorylation sites were determined here.

Identification of Cofilin-1 and Destrin as Potential Early-warning Biomarkers for Gamma Radiation in Mouse Liver Tissues

Health Physics, 2019
Abstract Gamma radiation causes cell injury and leads to an increased risk of cancer, so it is of practical significance to identify biomarkers for gamma radiation. We used proteomic analysis to identify differentially expressed proteins in liver tissues of C57BL/6J mice treated with gamma radiation from 137Cs for 360 d.

p210 bcr‐abl induces amoeboid motility by recruiting ADF/destrin through RhoA/ROCK1

The FASEB Journal, 2012
We previously demonstrated that the Bcr‐Abl oncogene, p210 bcr‐abl , through its unique GEF domain, specifically activates RhoA and induces spontaneous amoeboid motility. We intend to study the pathways downstream RhoA controlling amoeboid motility.
