Detection threshold in polymers
Nuclear Tracks and Radiation Measurements, 1993Abstract The replica technique for the observation of tracks by TEM, allowed the study of tracks in Makrofol E in regions of energy virtually “forbidden” by the traditional registration models. One or both critical extremes of energy where analyzed for particles such as protons, helium, deuterons and lithium, trying to find a correlation with any of ...

Saltiness and Acidity: Detection and Recognition Thresholds and Their Interaction Near the Threshold
Journal of Food Science, 2009ABSTRACT: Interaction of saltiness and acidity at the threshold level was studied employing 35 to 40 young female panelists. As a 1st step, the detection and recognition thresholds of salt, rice vinegar, and rice black vinegar have been measured for each panelist.

Sonography detection threshold for knee effusion
Clinical Rheumatology, 2003The aim of this study was to determine the threshold for detecting knee effusion by ultrasound (US). Five knee specimens from embalmed cadavers were studied. Intra-articular injection of saline, blood and synovial fluid was performed under ultrasound control and methylene blue dye instillation.

Canonically optimum threshold detection
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1966A general canonical theory is developed for the systematic approximation of optimum, or Bayes, detection procedures in the critical limiting threshold mode of operation. The approximations to Bayes detectors introduced here are called locally optimum Bayes detectors (LOBD's) and are defined by the condition that they produce the same value of average ...

Detection threshold for lights of varying purity
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1979Duration thresholds for hue substitution stimuli of various wavelenghts and colorimetric purity were determined. Results indicated an inverse relationship between duration thresholds and colorimetric purity. It was also found that short-wavelength sensitive (SWS) cones can contribute to the detection of low purity, short duration (less than 5 ms ...

Detection threshold for soft thresholding

Detection thresholds for sinusoidal frequency modulation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1989An adaptive forced-choice procedure was used to measure, in four normal-hearing subjects, detection thresholds for sinusoidal frequency modulation as a function of carrier frequency ( fc, from 250 to 4000 Hz) and modulation frequency ( fmod, from 1 to 64 Hz).

Activity detection with dendrite threshold model
2015 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI), 2015This paper presents an activity detection system using dendrite threshold logic neuron models. This method generates a dendrite weight matrix from the background image and detect the changes in the subsequent images through the trained neuron outputs. Using only one layer of dendrite neuron cells with simplistic threshold logic cells, an accuracy of 98%

Upper-velocity threshold for detection of movement
Optics Letters, 1979The maximum velocity with which an object can move and be seen to be moving was measured as a function of its luminance. Object movements greater than 1000 degrees /sec can readily be detected as movement. Saccadic eye movements should therefore produce sensations of visual movement.

Estimation of Detection Thresholds for Redirected Turning
2019 IEEE Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces (VR), 2019Redirection makes it possible to walk around a vast virtual space in a limited real space while providing a natural walking sensation by applying a gain to the amount of movement in a real space. However, manipulating the walking path while keeping it and maintaining the naturalness of walking when turning at a corner cannot be achieved by the existing
