Thermally stimulated current spectroscopy: Experimental techniques for the investigation of silicon detectors

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1993
Radiation damage of silicon detectors can be investigated by means of several techniques. In a high-luminosity environment the thermally stimulated current (TSC) spectroscopy proves to be a good experimental method in order to analyze the deep defects induced by irradiation.

New experimental techniques and new detectors

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1992
Abstract Recent developments of colliding beam detectors are reviewed. Similarities are discussed in terms of common physics goals and non-physics constraints. As an extrapolation of present technologies the development of a low-mass drift chamber is discussed.

Comparison of effectiveness of three radon detectors (LR115, CR39 and silicon diode pin) placed in a cylindrical device-theory and experimental techniques

Nuclear Tracks and Radiation Measurements, 1993
Abstract Researchers at the Laboratory of Nuclear Microanalysis in Besancon (FRANCE) are developing and improving radon measurements in order to detect and analyse, more precisely radon emanation anomalies in both fields of Earth Sciences and Radioprotection.

Efficiency calibration of NaI (Tl) detector for disc source using point source experimental technique and Monte Carlo simulations

Second iiScience International Conference 2021: Recent Advances in Photonics and Physical Sciences, 2021
The detection efficiency of a gamma ray detector should be calibrated prior to the measurement of activity in samples. The aim of this research is to develop a simple experimental technique to calibrate the efficiency of detectors for geometrical sources by replicating their responses from virtually equivalent sources (VES) constructed from a ...

Experimental results on a detector capacitance compensation technique for multiplexing SiPM channels

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2020
Abstract This work presents a detector capacitance compensation circuit for array-type SiPM-based radiation detectors while maintaining high-quality pulse information, including energy and time resolution. The major component of the proposed configuration, a unity-gain amplifier exploiting the Miller effect, maintains the same AC voltages on two ...

CR-39 detector and experimental techniques of cosmic supermassive particles search

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1990
Abstract The characteristics of CR-39 plastic for cosmic supermassive particles search are described. The long-term effects of temperature, oxygen, and water vapor on the sensitivity of CR-39 and the pre-soaking effect were investigated. For processing the large number of CR-39 plates, a way of mass etching was also investigated and a large etching ...

A simple experimental technique for very small mössbauer line shifts using resonance detectors

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research, 1983
Abstract The composite line resulting from experiments with a fixed resonance sample placed in front of a resonance detector has been studied. An “inversion” of the composite line at high effective thicknesses of the sample has been observed. The parameter asymmetry of the composite line which is a very sensitive linear function of the relative shift

Thermal Detectors As X-Ray Calorimeters: Theoretical And Experimental Results And Data Processing Techniques

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
We report measurements on the energy resolution of germanium X-ray calorimeters for the energy range 1-50 keV. The detector we use is a modified infrared bolometer which is currently operated at 3He temperatures (0.31K) and is capable of attaining a FWHM of 172 eV for 5.9 keV X-rays.
