Shotgun Metagenomics Reveals Skin Microbiome Composition and Function in Infant Atopic Disease
Allergy, EarlyView.Deep shotgun metagenomics profiled > 1000 infant skin swabs in the VITALITY cohort. Distinct skin microbiome signatures separated AD alone from AD with allergic co‐occurrence. Early Staphylococcus enrichment preceded later AD with allergic co‐occurrence. FLG mutations and strain‐level analyses revealed host and microbial features linked to AD.Zeyang Shen, Jana K. Andrology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background
Nuts are rich in antioxidants and other bioactive compounds, and recent evidence suggests that their regular consumption may be associated with sperm quality. However, the current scientific evidence remains limited and inconsistent.Estefanía Dávila‐Córdova, Nancy Babio, Cristina Valle‐Hita, María Fernández de la Puente, Alfonso Beltran‐Arasa, Miguel Cebrián‐Puig, Violeta Fambuena‐Perez, Iván García‐Serrano, Michelle M. Acta Paediatrica, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Introduction
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in preterm infants. Combining surfactant with budesonide has been proposed to prevent BPD, but results from existing randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are conflicting.James X. Sotiropoulos, Brett J. British Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.Summary
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) presents a complex biological and clinical landscape, strongly influenced by the tumour microenvironment (TME). To better capture this heterogeneity, we have developed patient‐derived lymphoma spheroids from CLL samples (CLL‐PDLS), which recapitulate the cross‐talk between malignant cells and the autologous ...Heribert Playa‐Albinyana, Ariadna Giró, Juan A.
