OneDZ: a global detrital zircon database and implications for constructing giant geoscience database [PDF]
The amount of detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology data and Lu-Hf isotopic data has doubled in the past two decades with the continuous improvement of analytical methods, and has developed into the most closely integrated research field in earth science ...

Detrital-zircon geochronology and sedimentary provenance [PDF]
The article on sources of Paleozoic sediment in the Grand Canyon by [Gehrels et al. (2011)][1] in the June issue of Lithosphere illuminates progress in studies of sedimentary provenance, which have evolved dramatically during the past fifty years. During my dissertation research at Virginia Tech,

Detrital zircon of 4.1 Ga in South China [PDF]
One hadean zircon from the Cambrian sandstone in the southern part of South China has a U-Pb age of 4107±29 Ma with ɛ Hf(t) value similar to that of the homochronous depleted mantle and Hf model age of 4102±21 Ma. This demonstrates the existence of hadean crustal remnant in South China.

Detrital Zircon Provenance in the Sediments in the Southern Okinawa Trough [PDF]
The provenance of sediments in the Southern Okinawa Trough since the late Holocene has been a controversial scientific issue during the past 20 years. Previous studies based on isotope proxies generally indicated Taiwanese rivers as the primary source in the Southern Okinawa Trough since the late Holocene.

Minimizing the effects of Pb loss in detrital and igneous U–Pb zircon geochronology by CA-LA-ICP-MS [PDF]
Detrital zircon geochronology by laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) is a widely used tool for determining maximum depositional ages and sediment provenance, as well as reconstructing sediment routing pathways ...

Metamictization and chemical durability of detrital zircon
We have investigated the effect that metamictization has on the weathering of zircon in detrital continental sediments and tropical soils of the Amazon basin, Brazil. The degree of radiation damage in the near-surface region of the zircon grains was determined by Raman microprobe. In each of the four series investigated (i.e., sediment, podzol, topsoil,

Provenance study of Phanerozoic rocks from the Cordillera Real of Bolivia
U/Pb ages of detrital zircon from two samples of Ordovician sediments were determined and, based on similar published data, were compared with xenocrystal inheritance of Triassic and Oligocene granitoids of the Cordillera Real in order to better ...
