Discordance dating: A new approach for dating alteration events [PDF]

open access: yesGeochronology
Zircon is the premier geochronometer used to date igneous and metamorphic processes, constrain sediment provenance models, and monitor key events in Earth history such as the growth of continents and the evolution of the biosphere.

Early Paleozoic tectonic reconstruction of Iran: Tales from detrital zircon geochronology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this study we use detrital zircons to probe the Early Paleozoic history of NE Iran and evaluate the link between sediment sources and Gondwanan pre-Cadomian, Cadomian and younger events.

Detrital-zircon geochronology and sedimentary provenance [PDF]

open access: yesLithosphere, 2011
The article on sources of Paleozoic sediment in the Grand Canyon by [Gehrels et al. (2011)][1] in the June issue of Lithosphere illuminates progress in studies of sedimentary provenance, which have evolved dramatically during the past fifty years. During my dissertation research at Virginia Tech,

Detrital zircon of 4.1 Ga in South China [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Science Bulletin, 2012
One hadean zircon from the Cambrian sandstone in the southern part of South China has a U-Pb age of 4107±29 Ma with ɛ Hf(t) value similar to that of the homochronous depleted mantle and Hf model age of 4102±21 Ma. This demonstrates the existence of hadean crustal remnant in South China.
