Temporal relations between mineral deposits and global tectonic cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Natural Environment Research Council (grant NE/J021822/1) supported this research.Mineral deposits are heterogeneously distributed in both space and time, with variations reflecting tectonic setting, evolving environmental conditions, as in the ...

A Late-Miocene Yuli belt? New constraints on the eastern Central Range depositional ages

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2020
In Taiwan’s Central Range mountains, fundamental constraints on depositional ages and the timing of deformation and metamorphism remain a problematic issue preventing a consensual chronology of orogenic events to be established.

Zircon ages in granulite facies rocks: decoupling from geochemistry above 850 °C? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Granulite facies rocks frequently show a large spread in their zircon ages, the interpretation of which raises questions: Has the isotopic system been disturbed? By what process(es) and conditions did the alteration occur?

Exhumation of the Sierra de Cameros (Iberian Range, Spain): constraints from low-temperature thermochronology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We present new fission-track and (U–Th)/He data from apatite and zircon in order to reconstruct the exhumation of the Sierra de Cameros, in the northwestern part of Iberian Range, Spain. Zircon fission-track ages from samples from the depocentre of the

A brief introduction to the detrital zircon U–Pb and Hf isotopic datasets for mainland China and adjacent regions

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal
Improvements in analytical technique and data processing lead to a large deposit of detrital zircon U–Pb and Hf isotopic data in published journal articles, thesis and reports.

A Reproducible SEM Surface Imaging Protocol for Monitoring Microstructural Changes During Gas–Rock Interactions

open access: yesGreenhouse Gases: Science and Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Reliable characterization of mineralogical and textural changes in rock samples is essential for understanding fluid–rock interactions, particularly in experimental studies simulating subsurface conditions. This study presents a reproducible protocol for scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of rock surfaces before and after exposure to ...

Detrital zircon of 4.1 Ga in South China [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Science Bulletin, 2012
One hadean zircon from the Cambrian sandstone in the southern part of South China has a U-Pb age of 4107±29 Ma with ɛ Hf(t) value similar to that of the homochronous depleted mantle and Hf model age of 4102±21 Ma. This demonstrates the existence of hadean crustal remnant in South China.

Mesozoic–Cenozoic Thermochronology of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan System, NW China

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Tectonothermal history of the Tarim–Southern Tianshan system compared with the major tectonic events at far‐field plate margins. ABSTRACT The Tarim Basin, an oil‐bearing basin in northwest China, is tectonically and sedimentologically linked to the Southern Tianshan Orogenic Belt.
