Construction of Developable Surfaces with Two Director Curves
An analysis of a number of published materials regarding four types of developable surfaces with two director (supporting) algebraic curves of the second order lying in parallel or in intersecting planes has been conducted.

Paper strips driven design: Application on doubly curved surfaces [PDF]
In this paper, we address the challenge of overcoming the problem of developing doubly curved surfaces in product design. Product design uses two kinds of surfaces, developable surfaces and non-developable surfaces, which are also called singly and ...

On The Darboux Frame Motion of a Developable Surface
Developable ruled surfaces and the rotation-minimizing frames (RMF) have a crucial importance in computer-aided geometric design (CAGD) because of being unfoldable (developable) into a plane without distortion.

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Directional developable surfaces and their singularities in Euclidean 3-space
The developable surface is a surface that can be unfolded on a plane without tearing or stretching, and it is widely used in many fields of engineering and manufacturing.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Translating material and design space:Strategies to design with curved creased surfaces
This paper shares findings from the project DevA (Developable surfaces in Architecture), a research by design based project developed a collaboration between academic and industry partners. The project aims to investigate the use of curved sheet material

THE RELATIVELY OSCULATING DEVELOPABLE SURFACES OF A SURFACE ALONG A DIRECTION CURVE
We construct a developable surface tangent to a surface along a curve on the surface. We call this surface as relatively osculating developable surface.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

On the determination of a developable spherical orthotomic ruled surface
In this paper, a method for determination of developable spherical orthotomic ruled surfaces is given by using dual vector calculus. We show that dual vectorial expression of a developable spherical orthotomic ruled surface can be obtained from ...
