Variable step-size LMS algorithm: new developments and experiments
Proceedings of IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems - ISCAS '94, 1994The variable step size least mean square (VSLMS) algorithm is explored further and adopted for tracking of time varying environments. Two implementations of the VSLMS algorithm are proposed. Our emphasis is on the implementations with different step sizes at various taps of the adaptive filter.

Development of new practical multitarget data association algorithm
[Proceedings 1992] The First IEEE Conference on Control Applications, 2003A practical method of multitarget data association based on the probabilistic data association (PDA), joint PDA (JPDA) and SPDA algorithms is presented. The method can take account of the effects of all returns in validation region on the association probability, which are not considered well in the SPDA.

New approach in developing of the algorithms for resuscitation assistance
The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005The algorithms used in automated external defibrillators (AED) do not provide the necessary reliability of detection of fibrillation, especially in presence of artifacts. The system described in this article allows detecting different artifacts, improving the detection quality.

Development of a new QT algorithm with heterogenous ECG databases
Journal of Electrocardiology, 2003An algorithm for automated QT interval assessments has been developed and evaluated using the PhysioNet QT database and the electrocardiogram multilead database (2 collections of electrocardiograms with different characteristics, eg, numbers of leads and expert annotations). QRS onset and coarse T offset detection was based on the definition of a short

The threshold algorithm: Description of the methodology and new developments
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2017Understanding the dynamics of complex systems requires the investigation of their energy landscape. In particular, the flow of probability on such landscapes is a central feature in visualizing the time evolution of complex systems. To obtain such flows, and the concomitant stable states of the systems and the generalized barriers among them, the ...

Development and Applications of a New Optimization Algorithm
2012All the nature-inspired algorithms such as genetic algorithm (GA), PSO, BBO, ABC, DE, etc. require algorithm parameters to be set for their proper working. Proper selection of parameters is essential for the searching of the optimum solution by these algorithms. A change in the algorithm parameters changes the effectiveness of the algorithms.

New directions in the development of the ORASIS algorithm
SPIE Proceedings, 2004The Optical Real-time Adaptive Spectral Identification System (ORASIS) continues to be developed by the Naval Research Laboratory. Recently, new methods to compress hyperspectral data using ORASIS in combination with wavelets have been demonstrated. Variations on this approach continue to be pursued and will be discussed.

Nonlinear Model-Algorithmic Control: A Review and New Developments
1998This paper presents “a review of Nonlinear Model-Algorithmic Control (MAC), and introduces a new generalized formulation, which incorporates nonminimum-phase compensation. In addition, new nonlinear multirate Model-Algorithmic Control methods are developed. The handling of input constraints within a MAC framework is also discussed.

New Algorithmic Developments for Estimation Problems in Time Series
1984New filtering results are described for a nonstationary ARIMA model having any pattern of missing data. These results are based on a modification of the Kalman filter which allows the initial state vector to partially diffuse. The problem of defining a likelihood for a nonstationary ARIMA process is discussed, and several alternative approaches are ...
