Identification of printout devices

Forensic Science International, 1982
Abstract Some of the aspects that will assist in the identification of printout devices have been explored. More research must be done particularly with the ink jet and laser printers to facilitate identification of the documents printed by these devices. Further technological changes in printout devices are imminent.

A Fingerprinting Technique for Identification of Wireless Devices

2018 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS), 2018
A fingerprinting of a physical device is useful in distinguishing a device from others. In security perspective device fingerprinting has many applications such as device authentication, network access management, withstanding attacks related to identity spoofing and tracing the malicious devices.

Entropy-based IoT Devices Identification

2020 21st Asia-Pacific Network Operations and Management Symposium (APNOMS), 2020
The Internet of Things is now part of everyday life and there has been a wide range of novel IoT applications collecting cyber-physical data and providing information on the environment. As it is expected that the IoT traffic will count for a major part of the Internet traffic, it is essential to characterize the IoT traffic and to identify each device,

Flicker Forensics for Pirate Device Identification

Proceedings of the 3rd ACM Workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security, 2015
Cryptography-based content protection is an efficient means to protect multimedia content during transport. Nevertheless, content is eventually decrypted at rendering time, leaving it vulnerable to piracy e.g. using a camcorder to record movies displayed on an LCD screen.

Wireless device identification in MIMO channels

2009 43rd Annual Conference on Information Sciences and Systems, 2009
A data-aided iterative algorithm to estimate the nonlinearities of wireless emitters for Specific emitter Identification (SEI) is presented. To achieve robust estimation, Inter Symbol Interference (ISI) is removed by iteratively estimating the channel coefficients and nonlinear transmit symbols to achieve asymptotically unbiased estimation.

The heat resistance of a ceramic identification device

Australian Dental Journal, 1982
Abstract— Identification of human remains by the teeth is a widely accepted forensic procedure. At present the principle dental technique used for identification of the dead is the post‐mortem comparison method which involves a comparison of post‐mortem dental findings and any available ante‐mortem records. This study describes the results of an in ...

A postfabrication technique for identification of prosthetic devices

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1995
Two postfabrication procedures for placing a computer-generated identification label on a dental prosthetic device, using a special denture base preparation bur, a computer-generated and laser-printed label, and autopolymerizing acrylic resin or light-polymerized gel are described.

Camera identification of multi-format devices

Pattern Recognition Letters, 2020
Abstract Photo Response Non-Uniformity (PRNU) based source camera attribution is an effective method to determine an image or a video’s origin camera. However, modern devices, especially smartphones, capture images and videos at different resolutions using the same sensor array, PRNU attribution can become ineffective as the camera fingerprint and ...

Learning to Rank for Cross-Device Identification

2015 IEEE International Conference on Data Mining Workshop (ICDMW), 2015
We summarize the 1st place solution of the ICDM 2015 data mining contest and explain how the goal of the contest fits naturally into the learning-to-rank paradigm. We show that learning-to-rank models provide an improvement over the more conventional binary classification models for this task.

Identification of the user by using a hardware device

2020 5th International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Signal and Image Processing (ATSIP), 2020
In real life, people treat with their interlocutors face-to-face. In virtual life, our interlocutors are behind the walls of internet, and we do not whether they are human beings or programs. Thus, an issue of identity rises. Special attention is given to on-line banking since it is a delicate issue.
