The Van Hove diagonality conditions and ensemble averages
Physica, 1966Abstract It is shown that a stationary, ergodic stochastic process satisfies conditions analogous to Van Hove's1) well known diagonality conditions. In this context Van Hove's irreducible diagonal matrix elements are shown to be simply cumulant averages.

Diagonal conditions for lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2013We define diagonal conditions for lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces and show that these conditions are preserved under initial constructions. Further, the forgetful functor from the category of stratified lattice-valued uniform convergence spaces into the category of stratified lattice-valued limit spaces maps these conditions to corresponding ...

On diagonal N-representablity problem II: Sufficient conditions
Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, 2013A set of transformational matrices (TM) is introduced which convert the weights of a mixed state into the diagonal elements of reduced density matrix (RDM). The formulae for the products of TM are deduced; the singular values of TM are calculated and the corresponding spectral expansion is built.

The Condition Number of Equivalence Transformations That Block Diagonalize Matrix Pencils
SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 1983How ill-conditioned must a matrix S be if its columns are constrained to span certain subspaces? We answer this question in order to find nearly best conditioned matrices SR and SL that block diagonalize a given matrix pencil T=A+λB, i.e. S L −1 TSR=Θ is bloc diagonal.

Diagonally Modified Conditional Gradient Methods for Input Constrained Optimal Control Problems
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1986Following the terminology of \textit{R. A. Tapia} [J. Optim. Theory Appl. 22, 135-194 (1977; Zbl 0336.65034)] the author considers a diagonally modified conditional gradient method. The aim of this paper is to study the asymptotic behaviour of the associated minimization algorithms. Convergence rate estimates are obtained.

A Riccati equation for block-diagonalization of ill-conditioned systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1975A simple transformation, originally introduced for singularly perturbed systems, is now applicable to a larger class of time-invariant systems.
