Behavior of diagonal-to-column joint under cycling loading
Non-linear analysis of steel semi-rigid diagonal-to-column joint is presented in the paper. Investigated joint is a part of a structural system, which was often used in Slovakia. The results from analysis will help with the correct preparation of a test. Evaluation of stiffness and resistance of this joint is the purpose. These parameters are the input

Beamforming technique based on adaptive diagonal loading in wireless access networks
Ad Hoc Networks, 2020Abstract The technique of beamforming which determines the directionality of array sensors plays an important part in wireless access networks, due to small snapshots and variational signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) in practical applications, the performance of traditional sampling matrix inversion(SMI) beamforming algorithm often degrades drastically ...

Adaptive subspace-constrained diagonal loading
2016 Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA), 2016Recently, a subspace-constrained diagonal loading (SSC-DL) method has been proposed for robust beamforming against the mismatched direction of arrival (DoA) issue. Although SSC-DL has outstanding output SINR performance, it is not clear how to choose the DL factor and subspace dimension in practice.

Efficient method to determine diagonal loading value
2003 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003. Proceedings. (ICASSP '03)., 2004It is well known that the performance of the adaptive beamforming algorithm is degraded when the sample support is short. The diagonal loading method is a simple and efficient method for improving the robustness of adaptive beamforming for such cases. Meanwhile, we are not aware of a formal approach to determine an optimal diagonal value to date.

Sparse RLS adaptive filter with diagonal loading
2012 Conference Record of the Forty Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2012In this paper, we propose an adaptive algorithm for sparse identification. The algorithm is based on diagonal loading, reweighting, and coordinate descent iterations. Simulation results show that the algorithm has performance close to the performance of the oracle RLS algorithm with perfect knowledge of the support and yet has as low complexity as O(N)

On diagonal loading for minimum variance beamformers
Proceedings of the 3rd IEEE International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology (IEEE Cat. No.03EX795), 2004Minimum variance beamformers are usually complemented with diagonal loading techniques in order to provide robust ness against finite sample size effects. In spite of its usefulness and popularity, some of the insights of this interesting technique have remained inconspicuous for decades.
