Robust Adaptive Diagonal Variable Loading RLS Beamforming

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL ON Advances in Information Sciences and Service Sciences, 2012
This paper deals with diagonal variable loading recursive least squares (VLRLS) array beamforming based on a generalized sidelobe canceller. In conjunction with a subweight partition approach, the VLRLS-based beamformer demonstrates the advantages of fast convergence speed, insensitivity to dynamic estimate modeling error, less computational load, and ...

Robust beamforming with array shape distortion dependent diagonal loading

APCC/MDMC '04. The 2004 Joint Conference of the 10th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications and the 5th International Symposium on Multi-Dimensional Mobile Communications Proceeding, 2005
A simple method to adaptively determine the diagonal loading factor for robust beamforming is proposed. The loading factor is acquired based on the information of the steering vector error caused by the array shape distortion, which can be extracted from the received data covariance matrix.

Beamforming algorithm of diagonal loading based on matrix decomposition

2011 4th IEEE International Conference on Broadband Network and Multimedia Technology, 2011
In the beamforming algorithm of the matrix decomposition, through QR decomposition of data matrix, the QR decomposition algorithm transforms the problem of solving the weighted vector into the problem of solving a triangular linear equations, which avoids to estimating and inversing of array signal covariance matrix, improves the robustness of the data;

Short-term load forecasting using diagonal recurrent neural network

[1993] Proceedings of the Second International Forum on Applications of Neural Networks to Power Systems, 2002
This paper presents a new approach for short term load forecasting using a diagonal recurrent neural network with an adaptive learning rate. The fully connected recurrent neural network (FRNN), where all neurons are coupled to one another, is difficult to train and to converge in a short time. The DRNN is a modified model of FRNN.

Behavior of diagonal-to-column joint under cycling loading

Pollack Periodica, 2011
Non-linear analysis of steel semi-rigid diagonal-to-column joint is presented in the paper. Investigated joint is a part of a structural system, which was often used in Slovakia. The results from analysis will help with the correct preparation of a test. Evaluation of stiffness and resistance of this joint is the purpose. These parameters are the input

Closed-form Pd expression for diagonally-loaded GLRT

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2007
The recent paper by Shnidman [1] introduced two new models for radar target fluctuation. One of them is the noncentral gamma-gamma (NCGG) distribution, specified by a density function expressed as an infinite sum. It is shown here that one can actually derive an expression for the density in terms of the confluent hypergeometric function.

Strength at Diagonal Cracking under Uniform Load

Journal of the Structural Division, 1974
This note presents an analysis by which the cracking strength may be evaluated independent of the location of the critical section. The approach is essentially statistical. The diagonal cracking load is a function of the following variables: 1) the total diagonal cracking load on the beam; 2) the effective depth of the beam; 3) length of span; 4) width

Insertion of diagonal loading into the multistage Wiener filter

Sensor Array and Multichannel Signal Processing Workshop Proceedings, 2002, 2003
Diagonal loading is a well-known technique for adding robustness to beamformer solutions. Diagonal loading will add robustness to steering vector direction-of-arrival mismatch; element position, gain, and/or phase perturbations; "statistical" mismatch due to finite sample support; etc.

Thoracic Response to Dynamic, Non-Impact Loading from a Hub, Distributed Belt, Diagonal Belt, and Double Diagonal Belts

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004
This paper presents thoracic response corridors developed using fifteen post-mortem human subjects (PMHS) subjected to single and double diagonal belt, distributed, and hub loading on the anterior thorax. We believe this is the first study to quantify the force-deflection response of the same thorax to different loading conditions using dynamic, non ...

The Bias of the MVDR Beamformer Outputs under Diagonal Loading

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
The MVDR beamformer is the most extensively used array processing algorithm and involves inverting the sample covariance matrix. In the snapshot deficient scenario, when the number of sensors is greater than or approximately equal to the number of snapshots, the eigenvalues of the resulting sample covariance matrix are poorly conditioned.
