Detailed analysis of the mean diameter and diameter distribution of single wall carbon nanotubes from their optical response [PDF]
We report a detailed analysis of the optical properties of single wall carbon nanotubes with different mean diameters as produced by laser ablation. From a combined study of optical absorption, high resolution electron energy-loss spectroscopy in transmission and tight binding calculations we were able to accurately determine the mean diameter and ...

The number of circulating tumor cells obtained from prostate cancer patients was increased approximately 5‐fold compared to regular CellSearch when processing 2 mL diagnostic leukapheresis material aliquots and increased by 44‐fold when processing 20 mL DLA aliquots using the flow enrichment target capture Halbach‐array.

Abstract Background Ultrasonography (US) and 99mTechnetium‐sestamibi scintigraphy (99mTc‐MIBI) are currently first‐line imaging modalities to localize parathyroid adenomas with sensitivities of 80% and 84%, respectively. Therefore, finding other modalities to further improve the diagnostic accuracy for preoperative localization is critically needed ...

Diameters, distortion, and eigenvalues
We study the relation between the diameter, the first positive eigenvalue of the discrete $p$-Laplacian and the $\ell_p$-distortion of a finite graph. We prove an inequality relating these three quantities and apply it to families of Cayley and Schreier graphs.

On the Diameter of Lattice Polytopes [PDF]
In this paper we show that the diameter of a d-dimensional lattice polytope in [0,k]^n is at most (k - 1/2) d. This result implies that the diameter of a d-dimensional half-integral polytope is at most 3/2 d. We also show that for half-integral polytopes the latter bound is tight for any d.

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Treatment planning with a 2.5 MV photon beam for radiation therapy
Abstract Purpose The shallow depth of maximum dose and higher dose fall‐off gradient of a 2.5 MV beam along the central axis that is available for imaging on linear accelerators is investigated for treatment of shallow tumors and sparing the organs at risk (OARs) beyond it.

On the Orbital Diameter of Groups of Diagonal Type [PDF]
The orbital diameter of a primitive permutation group is the maximal diameter of its orbital graphs. There has been a lot of interest in bounds for the orbital diameter. In this paper we provide explicit bounds on the diameters of groups of simple diagonal type.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.
