Supramolecular Science, 1996Abstract 1,2-Diarylethenes with heterocyclic aryl groups, such as benzothiophene rings, underwent thermally irreversible and fatigue resistant photochromic reactions. The photocyclization response time of a dithienylethane was measured to be 1 ps.
