A diarylethene based multi-functional sensor for fluorescent detection of Cd2+ and colorimetric detection of Cu2+

Dyes and pigments, 2019
A diarylethene based multi-functional sensor has been designed and synthesized. It not only exhibited excellent photochromism, but also has recognition performance for Cd2+ and Cu2+. Upon addition of 7.0 equiv.

Structure Switching and Modulation of the Magnetic Properties in Diarylethene-Bridged Metallosupramolecular Compounds by Controlled Coordination-Driven Self-Assembly.

Angewandte Chemie, 2019
We report three self-assembled iron complexes that comprised an anti-parallel open form (o-Lanti ), a parallel open form (o-Lsyn ), and a closed form (c-L) of diarylethene conformers.

Electrochemical Cyclization/Cycloreversion Reactions of Diarylethenes

Organic Letters, 2005
[reaction: see text]. Electrochemical oxidation of diarylethene derivatives induced cyclization or cycloreversion reactions. The reaction mechanism was studied with CV, absorption spectra, and theoretical calculation.

Design of Mesomorphic Diarylethene-Based Photochromes

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
The effects of the molecular variation of diarylethenes on the mesomorphic, photochromic, and fluorescence properties have been investigated, and dramatic changes in the fluorescence, photochromic, and liquid crystal behavior were observed.

A new multi-functional fluorescent mercuric ion sensor based on diarylethene with triazole-linked rhodamine B unit

, 2020
A novel photochromic diarylethene fluorescence sensor 1o bearing a triazole-linked rhodamine B unit was designed and synthesized. Results showed that 1o had multi-responsive photoswitchable characteristics under the stimulation of light, proton, and ...

Photochromism of diarylethenes in nanolayers of a single crystal

Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, 2003
1,2-Bis(2-methyl-5-pentafluorophenyl-3-thienyl)perfluorocyclopentene (1a) and 1,2-bis(2-ethyl-5-phenyl-3-thienyl)-perfluorocyclopentene (2a) were found to form a 1:1 stoichiometric co-crystal. The crystal is composed of alternate nanolayers of 1a and 2a molecular sheets.

Hybrid Organic–Inorganic Photon-Powered Actuators Based on Aligned Diarylethene Nanocrystals

Chemistry of Materials, 2019
When photochromic molecules are organized in a crystal, the small-scale forces generated by molecular photoisomerization events can combine together to generate work on micro- or macroscopic length scales.
