A case of fatal suicidal ingestion of diazinon insecticide is presented. Diazinon concentrations in post-mortem body fluids and tissues were determined using electron capture and flame ionization gas-liquid chromatography. Toxicology Letters, 1985The tissue distribution of diazinon and the inhibition of blood cholinesterase (ChE) activity were investigated in male rats which received a single intraperitoneal (i.p.) dose of diazinon (100 mg/kg body wt) in olive oil. Diazinon concentration in the blood reached a maximum 1-2 h after dosing.

A Biosensor for the Detection of Acetylcholine and Diazinon
2019 41st Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2019Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter and a neuromodulator found in the autonomic, peripheral and central nervous systems. Diazinon is a pesticide with toxic effects on humans, such as the inhibition of acetylcholine. In this paper, a biosensor is proposed for the detection of acetylcholine (range 70 - 1000 μM) and diazinon (range 0.3 - 20000 ppb).

Concentration and movement of diazinon in air
Journal of Environmental Science and Health, Part B, 1982Airborne concentrations of diazinon were measured in rooms for 21 days after crack and crevice application. Residue levels were largest in treated rooms (38 micrograms/m3) after application, followed by adjacent (1 microgram/m3) and upper and lower rooms (ca. 0.4 microgram/m3). Low levels of diazinon were detected in all rooms 21 days after application.
