The reactivity of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids. Part XVI. The kinetics of the reaction of cycloalkenecarboxylic and cycloalkenylacetic acids with diazodiphenylmethane in various alcohols [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2002
The rate constants for the reaction of diazodiphenylmethane with 1-cyclopentenecarboxylic, 1-cycloheptenecarboxylic, cyclopent-1-enylacetic and cyclohept-1-enylacetic acids were determined in eight alcohols at 30 ºC using the appropriate UV-spectroscopic

Transmission of dipolar substituent effects: ionization of a series 3-(7-substituted-1-naphthyl) propynoic acid (E)-3-(7-substituted-1-naphthyl) propenoic acids and their Esterification with Diazodiphenylmethane

open access: yesAl-Kitab Journal for Pure Sciences, 2023
Alkaline hydrolysis rates coefficients for the series of methyl 3-(7-substituted-1-naphthyl) propynoate was calculated in 70%v/v dimethylsulphoxide-water at various temperatures (25,30,40, and 50̊ C).

Kinetics and mechanism of the reaction of substituted 4-pyrimidine carboxylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane in dimethylformamide [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Research, 2000
Correlation of the data for the reaction of 11 substituted 4-pyrimidine carboxylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane (DDM) in dimethylformamide (DMF) with calculated atomic charges on the carboxylic group showed that the reaction in this solvent may proceed via a concerted transition state.

Recent Developments in the Biosynthesis of Aziridines

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 25, Issue 16, August 19, 2024.
Aziridines are highly strained three‐membered rings comprised of two carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom. Natural products containing aziridines have been known for decades and used as drugs, but the biological origins of the aziridine ring were unknown until 2021.

The influence of the solvent on organic reactivity. Part II. Hydroxylic solvent effects on the reaction rates of diazodiphenylmethane with 2-(2-substituted cyclohex-1-enyl)acetic and 2-(2-substituted phenyl)acetic acids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
The rate constants for the reaction of diazodiphenylmethane with 2-(2-substituted cyclohex-1-enyl)acetic acids and 2-(2-substituted phenyl)acetic acids, previously determined in seven hydroxylic solvents, were correlated using the total solvatochromic ...

Reactivity of beta-aroylacrylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane

open access: yes, 1998
The rate constants for 10 trans-substituted beta-aroylacrylic acids in their reaction with diazodiphenylmethane (DDM) were determined in ethanol at 30 degrees C. The intention was to study the transmission of electronic effects of substituents on the phenyl nuclei to the carboxylic group reaction center, through the -C(=O)-CH=CH-group.
