Oxidative CH Bond Functionalization and Ring Expansion with TMSCHN2: A Copper(I)‐Catalyzed Approach to Dibenzoxepines and Dibenzoazepines

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2015
AbstractTricyclic dibenzoxepines and dibenzazepines are important therapeutic agents for the pharmaceutical industry and academic research. However, their syntheses are generally rather tedious, requiring several steps that involve a Wagner–Meerwein‐type rearrangement under harsh conditions.

Substituent effects in the induction of a cholesteric liquid crystal phase by atropisomeric dibenzoxepins: a study of arene–arene interactions

Chem. Commun., 1996
Substituent effects in the induction of a cholesteric liquid crystal phase by atropisomeric dibenzoxepins suggest that both electrostatic repulsion and polarizability are important factors controlling the stability of arene π-stacking complexes.

Three-Step Synthesis of (Thio)xanthene and Dibenzothiepine/Dibenzoxepine by an Intramolecular Mizoroki-Heck Reaction of Diaryl (Thio)Ethers

Synlett, 2012
We present a novel three-step protocol for preparing xanthene/thioxanthene and dibenzothiepine/dibenzoxepine from readily available starting materials. The Mizoroki―Heck cyclization as the final step was optimized to afford full conversion of the corresponding diaryl (thio)ethers and furthermore to achieve reasonably good selectivity between the 6-exo ...

Characterization of Thromboxane A2/Prostaglandin H2 Receptors in Porcine Coronary Artery -The Inhibitory Effect of a Novel Dibenzoxepin Derivative, KW-3635

Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 1992
SummaryWe characterized the thromboxane A2/prostaglandin H2 receptors in porcine coronary artery. The binding of [3H]SQ 29,548, a thromboxane A2 antagonist, to coronary arterial membranes was saturable and displaceable. Scatchard analysis of equilibrium binding showed a single class of high affinity binding sites with a dissociation constant of 18.5 ±1.

Selective Friedel–Crafts Acylation Reactions of 2-Arylphenoxyacetic Acids: A Simple and Efficient Methodology to Synthesize Dibenzoxepine and Arylcoumaranone Derivatives

Synthesis, 2015
Intramolecular Friedel–Crafts acylation reactions of 2-arylphenoxyacetic acids are accomplished using trifluoroacetic anhydride or trifluoromethanesulfonic acid at 0 °C or room temperature. Depending on the reaction conditions, dibenzoxepines or arylcoumaranones are obtained in good yields and with high selectivities (83–100%).

Cyclocarbonickelation–Arylation Cascade under Ligand-Free Conditions: Access to Dibenzoxepine, Oxathiepine, and Thiazepine Frameworks and Mechanistic Insights

Organic Letters
A ligand-free, nickel-catalyzed one-pot cyclocarbonickelation-arylation cascade of functionalized bromoalkyne substrates enables efficient and regioselective access to dibenzoxepine, dibenzoxathiepine, and dibenzothiazepine frameworks in good to high yields. This method exhibits a broad functional group tolerance, including electron-rich, electron-poor,
