Mild Focal Cooling Decouples Dendrites to Reconfigure Cortical Output
Mild cooling of the cortical surface selectively modulates apical dendritic excitability, plasticity, and somato‐dendritic coupling, while uncoupling these effects from basal dendrites, and reshapes apical‐driven responses in barrel cortex during whisker touch.

Experimental study on Brazilian splitting characteristics of heat damaged hot dry granite
In the process of geothermal exploitation in dry-hot granite reservoirs, the heat exchange and cooling of the reservoir can cause thermal damage to high-temperature rocks, directly affecting the mechanical properties of the reservoir rocks.

The ER's continuous tubular network is maintained by ER‐shaping proteins whose mutation or dysregulation contributes to neurodegenerative diseases. Here, we show that ER morphology sets the speed of Ca2+ store replenishment between firing events. Disrupting ER continuity slows intra‐ER Ca2+ redistribution from extracellular refill (SOCE) sites, driving

Monetary Policy Transmission Mechanisms within the European Monetary Union [PDF]
The interest in transmission mechanisms has revived since the EMU was established. Within such a heterogeneous framework, in fact, it is fundamental to appraise how the one size fits all monetary policy affects every single member. This paper presents an

ALKBH3 m1A Demethylase Deficiency Reduces Alzheimer's Amyloid‐β Pathology
This study identifies that ALKBH3‐driven m1A demethylation orchestrates Alzheimer's disease progression by disrupting mitochondrial and synaptic homeostasis. This epitranscriptomic mechanism suppresses PINK1‐mediated mitophagy via m1A erasure, leading to mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, elevated Aβ production, and impaired microglial ...

Numerical method for solving multipoints elliptic-parabolic equation for dehydration process [PDF]
Drying is the oldest and efficient form of preserving fruits. This research focuses on the mathematical modeling of tropical fruits dehydration using instant controlled pressure drop (Détente Instantanée Controlée or known as DIC) technique.

Selective CO formation in bicarbonate electrolysis is achieved by retaining reactive CO2 and tuning pH, while the competing hydrogen evolution reaction occurs at the interface. The rate‐determining step couples the chemical equilibrium of bicarbonate/CO2 with electrochemical charge transfer, offering insight into optimizing reaction conditions for ...

An in situ thiol–acrylate chain transfer‐mediated toughening strategy is introduced for Digital Light Processing (DLP) printing. Benefiting from its excellent printability, a printed gyroid lattice‐filled plate (100 µm wall thickness) achieves 92% transmittance at 10 GHz under a 50° incidence angle following structural optimization. ABSTRACT The unique

The Role of Preference Structure and Moral Hazard in a Multiple Equilibria. Model of Financial Crises [PDF]
This paper proposes an analysis of financial crises by a multiple equilibria model, based on the assumption of common knowledge. This model modifies and broadens the Corsetti, Guimaraes and Roubini (2003) model based on global games theory.
