A Single‐Amino‐Acid Ligand for LAT1: A Minimalist and Modular Platform for Lysosome‐Targeted Degradation of Membrane Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LA‐LYTAC repurposes the cancer‐enriched amino acid transporter LAT1 as a lysosomal trafficking receptor for targeted membrane‐protein degradation. A single phenylalanine‐derived ligand, modularly linked to antibodies or small‐molecule binders, recruits PD‐L1, EGFR, or integrins to LAT1, triggering transporter‐mediated internalization, lysosomal ...

Blood Cell‐Camouflaged Liquid Metal Nanoconjugates Orchestrate Treg Depletion and STING‐Amplified Photothermal Immunity for Metastatic Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐blood biomimetic engineering transforms liquid metal nanoparticles into a tripartite immunotherapeutic platform that orchestrates regulatory T‐cell depletion, photothermal‐induced immunogenic cell death, and activation of the stimulator of interferon genes pathway.

A Compact Hollow Fiber Electrode Assembly Architecture for Continuous Electrochemical Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A coaxial, membrane‐integrated hollow fiber electrode assembly (HFEA) is developed for continuous marine carbon mineralization. By utilizing a sub‐millimeter inter‐electrode gap, the HFEA minimizes Ohmic losses, achieving 50% energy reduction and over 85% DIC removal.

Automated Alignment Powered by Computer Vision Streamlines the Two‐Photon Polymerization‐Based Micro 3D Printing of Multiscale and Multimaterial Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Two‐photon polymerization enables high‐resolution microfabrication, but performing alignment when printing multiple structures is difficult. Here, we present a fast, robust, and open‐source protocol for automated alignment on Nanoscribe systems. Achieving ≈0.4 μm accuracy in under 5 s, our protocol reduces time and error in multimaterial printing. This

Macrophage‐derived MLKL in alcohol‐associated liver disease: Regulation of phagocytosis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
EtOH causes leaky gut allowing bacteria and PAMPs into the liver, resulting in hepatic inflammation and injury. We demonstrate that LPS induces STAT1‐mediated expression and phosphorylation of MLKL in macrophages and identify a novel function that myeloid MLKL translocates to phagosomes and lysosomes and regulates phagocytosis, which contributes to the

Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...

De Novo Discovery of Nonstandard Thioisoindole‐Bridged Bicyclic Peptides Targeting Traf2‐ and NCK‐Interacting Kinase

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An optimized strategy for the ribosomal synthesis of thioisoindole‐bridged bicyclic (TiB) peptides is incorporated into the RaPID platform, enabling high‐throughput discovery from topologically defined TiB libraries. Proof‐of‐concept selection against TNIK identifies nanomolar‐affinity ligands with inhibitory activity, while x‐ray crystallography ...

AI‐BioMech: Deep Learning Prediction of Mechanical Behavior in Aperiodic Biological Cellular Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
AI‐BioMech is a deep learning framework that predicts the mechanical behavior of biological cellular materials directly from 2D images. By replacing traditional finite element analysis with semantic segmentation, it identifies stress and strain distributions with 99% accuracy, offering a high‐speed, scalable alternative for analyzing complex, aperiodic
