Use of dicarboxylic acids in type 2 diabetes [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 2013
Even‐number, medium‐chain dicarboxylic acids (DAs), naturally occurring in higher plants, are a promising alternative energy substrate. Unlike the homologous fatty acids, DAs are soluble in water as salts. They are β‐oxidized, providing acetyl‐CoA and succinyl‐CoA, the latter being an intermediate of the tricarboxylic acid cycle.

Effect of Dicarboxylic Acids on Lentigo Maligna

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1979
Dicarboxylic acids from C8 to C14 are competitive inhibitors of tyrosinase in vitro, and here, the effect of a cream containing 15% azelaic acid (C9) on 3 cases of lentigo maligna is described. The lesions were treated for 90 days, with remarkable clinical and histological effect, maintained for up to 2 yr after cessation of treatment.

BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF AROYLHYDRAZIDES 1,4-DICARBOXYLIC ACIDS

open access: yesРазработка и регистрация лекарственных средств, 2019
Anthelmintic, insecticidal activities and influence on hemostasis of aroylhydrazides 1,4-dicarboxylic acids were investigated. Anthelmintic activity was investigated for 8 compounds, including three substances showed effect that exceed effect of the ...

Synthesis of Diaryl Hydroxyl Dicarboxylic Acids from Amino Acids. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Org Chem, 2020
Herein we report a unique method for preparing diaryl hydroxyl dicarboxylic acids in a diastereospecific manner. The three-component reaction occurs between amino acid, aromatic aldehyde, and primary alcohol in alkaline solutions under microwave-assisted

Correction to: Size matters: biochemical mineralization and microbial incorporation of dicarboxylic acids in soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The transformation and turnover time of medium- to long-chain dicarboxylic acids (DCA) in soil is regulated by microbial uptake and mineralization. However, the chain length of n-alkyl lipids may have a remarkable influence on its microbial utilization ...

Synthesis, Structure, and Magnetic Properties of New Spin Crossover Fe(II) Complexes Forming Short Hydrogen Bonds with Substituted Dicarboxylic Acids

open access: yesCrystals, 2016
We synthesized new Fe(II) compounds consisting of [Fe(L)2] (HL: 2-Acetylpyridine isonicotinoylhydrazone) and dicarboxylic acids. Single crystal analysis shows that short hydrogen bonds are formed between [Fe(L)2] and dicarboxylic acids.

Identification of isomeric unsaturated medium-chain dicarboxylic acids in human urine.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1989
Dicarboxylic aciduria caused by enhanced or inhibited fatty acid metabolism is usually described as increased urinary excretion of saturated medium-chain dicarboxylic acids, such as adipic, suberic, and sebacic acids.

An enhanced procedure for measuring organic acids and methyl esters in PM2.5 [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2015
A solid-phase extraction (SPE) pretreatment procedure allowing organic acids to be separated from methyl esters in fine aerosol has been developed. The procedure first separates the organic acids from fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) and other nonacid ...

The Peroxisomal Enzyme L-PBE Is Required to Prevent the Dietary Toxicity of Medium-Chain Fatty Acids

open access: yesCell Reports, 2013
Specific metabolic pathways are activated by different nutrients to adapt the organism to available resources. Although essential, these mechanisms are incompletely defined.
