Fluconazole Cocrystals with Dicarboxylic Acids

open access: yes, 2016
Fluconazole cocrystals were prepared with the intention to modify physicochemical properties of the antifungal agent. The well-known COOH···Narom heterosynthon was considered the key element in the cocrystals design strategy.

Two-step analytical procedure for the characterization and quantification of metal soaps and resinates in paint samples

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2018
Metal soaps and resinates are known to be spontaneously formed in artistic paintings, as a product of the reaction between aliphatic and terpenoid acids released by hydrolysis and oxidation of the organic media and certain cations contained in some ...

Tetrazine Ligation in Living Systems: Beyond Fast Kinetics to Effective Bioorthogonality

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Rapid reaction kinetics (k2) alone do not ensure successful tetrazine ligation in living systems. This review introduces ‘effective orthogonality’—focusing on chemical survival, availability, and encounter—as a practical framework. We highlight how bottlenecks shift from cellular sinks to in vivo delivery limits, offering design strategies for reliable

Coordinative‐Guest‐Triggered Dimensional Crossover in a Metal–Organic Framework With Rigid Metal–Oxo Rods

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report a reversible structural phase transition in a metal–organic framework (MOF) triggered by the exchange of coordinative guest molecules. This MOF consists of rigid 1D Pb–O rods as building units, forming a 3D framework with 1D pores. Guest exchange induces pronounced changes in both the Pb–O rod structure and the dimensionality of the framework.

Antiwear Performances of Dicarboxylic Acids in Vegetable Oils

open access: yesTribology Online, 2007
This study deals with the evaluation of antiwear performance of the vegetable oils [soybean oil, corn oil, rapeseed oil, and sunflower oil] and their blends, containing varying amounts of acetone, and organic acids [oxalic acid, succinic acid, and adipic

Nitrooxylation in Organic Synthesis: From Classical Nitrate Ester Formation to Modern Catalytic Strategies

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Nitrooxylation—the installation of nitrate esters (–ONO2) has evolved from classical mixed‐acid protocols to catalytic and mechano‐, flow‐, photo‐, and electrochemical strategies. This review delineates ionic and radical manifolds for C–ONO2 bond formation, emphasizing mechanistic control, selected substrate scope, and selectivity.

Xylose Acetals ‐ a New Class of Sustainable Solvents and Their Application in Enzymatic Polycondensation

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Novel organic solvents with an unmodified carbohydrate core were synthesised both from D‐xylose and directly from biomass and were successfully used as reaction media for lipase biocatalysts to synthesise aliphatic and aromatic polyesters. Abstract The use of organic solvents in academic research and industry applications is facing increasing ...

Novel Organelle‐Based Intracellular Immunity With Mechanistic and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesBarrier Immunity, EarlyView.
A conceptual framework illustrating how PAMPs/DAMPs initiate barrier, innate, adaptive, and intracellular immune responses, with organelle‐based intracellular immunity serving as a central integrator linking metabolism, inflammatory signaling, and therapeutic interventions to restore immune homeostasis.
