The pharmacology of diclofenac sodium (Voltarol).

Rheumatology and rehabilitation, 1980
Diclofenac is a potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic compound with good antipyretic and uricosuric properties. It is one of the most potent inhibitors of prostaglandin synthetase known. It shows a favourable therapeutic ratio considering its efficacy, and proved superior to the reference drugs in terms of gastro-intestinal tolerability.

[Cytotoxic effects of diclofenac sodium].

Nippon Ganka Gakkai zasshi, 1993
The authors studied the cytotoxic effect of diclofenac sodium, a prostaglandin synthetic inhibitor, on Chang's cultured human conjunctival cells. Diclofenac sodium inhibited cell growth dose-dependently. Although cell growth was interrupted 12 hrs later by one minute of exposure to a 0.1% solution of diclofenac sodium, the cells began to grow again 24 ...

The chemistry of diclofenac sodium (Voltarol).

Rheumatology and rehabilitation, 1980
The study of phenylbutazone and of the major anti-inflammatory agents which followed a decade later provided target criteria for a research project aimed at the synthesis of a new anti-inflammatory agent with superior activity and tolerability. Diclofenac fulfils the steric and physicochemical criteria, and the absence of a heterocyclic ring from its ...
