The mol­ecule of the title compound, C35H52O2, adopts an extended conformation, with the phenylacetate group twisted by 69.3 (1)° from the least-squares plane of the tetra­cyclic ring system. In the crystal structure, the mol­ecules are aligned in an anti­parallel fashion to form alternate layers.
