Automated Alignment Powered by Computer Vision Streamlines the Two‐Photon Polymerization‐Based Micro 3D Printing of Multiscale and Multimaterial Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Two‐photon polymerization enables high‐resolution microfabrication, but performing alignment when printing multiple structures is difficult. Here, we present a fast, robust, and open‐source protocol for automated alignment on Nanoscribe systems. Achieving ≈0.4 μm accuracy in under 5 s, our protocol reduces time and error in multimaterial printing. This

Language Learner's Use of a Bilingual Dictionary: A Comparative Study of Dictionary Use and Needs

open access: yesLexikos, 2012
This paper compares and contrasts dictionary use and needs of language learners at the University of York in the United Kingdom and at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. Five aspects are discussed in this study viz. dictionaries used, instructions and guidance on dictionary use, the functions for which students use a dictionary, information ...

Enhancing conceptualisations of information behaviour contexts through insights from research on e-dictionaries and e-lexicography

open access: yesInformation Research: An International Electronic Journal
Introduction. Extensive conceptualisations of context in information behaviour research do not extend to all contexts revealed in the use of electronic (e)-dictionary and similar e-sources.

Composition‐Aware Cross‐Sectional Integration for Spatial Transcriptomics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Multi‐section spatial transcriptomics demands coherent cell‐type deconvolution, domain detection, and batch correction, yet existing pipelines treat these tasks separately. FUSION unifies them within a composition‐aware latent framework, modeling reads as cell‐type–specific topics and clustering in embedding space.

The semantics of Chemical Markup Language (CML): dictionaries and conventions.

open access: yes, 2011
The semantic architecture of CML consists of conventions, dictionaries and units. The conventions conform to a top-level specification and each convention can constrain compliant documents through machine-processing (validation).

The Interoperability Challenge in DFT Workflows Across Implementations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Interoperability and cross‐validation remain major challenges in the computational materials science. In this work, we introduce a common input/output standard that enables internal translation across multiple workflow managers—AiiDA, PerQueue, Pipeline Pilot, and SimStack—while producing results in a unified schema.

Contexts of dictionary use [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
To design effective electronic dictionaries, reliable empirical information on how dictionaries are actually being used is of great value for lexicographers.

A Hybrid Transfer Learning Framework for Brain Tumor Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A novel hybrid transfer learning approach for brain tumor classification achieves 99.47% accuracy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. By combining image preprocessing, ensemble deep learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques like gradient‐weighted class activation mapping and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), the ...
