Screening for resistance to Didymella bryoniae in rootstocks of melon

EPPO Bulletin, 2000
Glasshouse evaluations of rootstocks of melon for resistance to Didymella bryoniae were conducted on different cucurbits previously selected as resistant or partially resistant to race 1,2 of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis. Cucumis anguria, C. ficifolius, C. figarei, C. metuliferus, C.

Host Specificity and Genetic Diversity of Didymella bryoniae from Cucurbitaceae in Brazil

Journal of Phytopathology, 2009
AbstractThirty‐seven isolates of Didymella bryoniae from three Cucurbitaceae species were collected in Brazil and tested for pathogenicity to watermelon. All isolates were pathogenic but differed in aggressiveness levels. Seven representative isolates were used in cross‐pathogenicity tests against 10 cucurbitaceous hosts.

Epidemiological aspects of Didymella bryoniae, the cause of stem and fruit rot of cucumber

Netherlands Journal of Plant Pathology, 1983
The survival ofDidymella bryoniae and the incidence of ascospores in glasshouses, outdoors and under controlled conditions were studied. The fungus was able to overwinter in the open as dormant mycelium. Dry and undecomposed crop residues remained a source of infection for more than one year.
