Polymorphic Superparaelectric Engineering Boosting Energy Storage Capacity in BaTiO3‐Based Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, Ca2+ incorporation promotes the coexistence of CaTiO3‐/BaTiO3‐derived paraferroelectric states, stabilizing cubic‐orthorhombic‐tetragonal polymorphic superparaelectric phases. This minimizes polarization energy barriers, facilitating full polarization saturation without compromising efficiency.

Electrical Treeing Characteristics in XLPE Power Cable Insulation in Frequency Range between 20 and 500 Hz

open access: yes, 2009
Electrical treeing is one of the main reasons for long term degradation of polymeric materials used in high voltage ac applications. In this paper we report on an investigation of electrical tree growth characteristics in XLPE samples from a commercial ...

Stroboscopic Imaging of Streamers Propagating on Dielectric Surfaces

open access: yes, 2014
Solid insulation materials in gas insulated medium (MV) and high voltage (HV) equipment often act as weak elements in terms of electric breakdown, for instance because the insulator surface may facilitate propagation of discharges.

An investigation into the dynamics of partial discharge propagation in mineral oil based nanofluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Recent studies present a model which assumes that conductive nanoparticles can reduce the speed of the positive streamer propagation in mineral oil due to electron trapping at the particle surface. Time resolved partial discharge measurements can be used

High‐Power Terahertz Emission from Picosecond Nano‐Plasma Switching Driven by Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nano‐plasma device enables watt‐level on‐chip THz generation through picosecond switching triggered by secondary electron emission avalanche. An ultra‐dense electron sheet initiates nano‐plasma formation within a ∼100 nm gap, driving rapid energy release into an integrated resonator.

Degradation processes of voids in solid dielectrics under AC applied fields

open access: yes, 2013
This Thesis is concerned with an experimental study into the degradation processes that occur when voids in solid dielectric materials experience high applied electric fields.

Spatially Selective Solvation Chemistry by Local Charge Enrichment for Stable Potassium‐Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MoC/NC functional intermediate medium preferentially interacts with KFSI to reconstruct the interfacial solvation structure and form a KF‐rich inorganic SEI. The synergistic integration of the electronically insulating SEI and MoC/NC suppresses electron tunneling, enables fast and balanced K+/electron transport, and promotes uniform K deposition for ...

Measurement and Evaluation of Insulating Properties of a Modified Dielectric Surface using Plasma Discharge

open access: yesMeasurement Science Review
Plasma discharges under atmospheric pressure can be used to modify the electrical properties of metallic and dielectric surfaces. The aim of such a modification is to achieve an improvement in the characteristic parameters of the surface, for example in ...
