Screen printing is used as a method for printing electrodes on silicone thin films for the fabrication of dielectric elastomer transducers (DET). This method can be used to manufacture a multitude of patternable designs for actuator and sensor applications, implementing the same method for prototyping as well as large-scale production.

Review of Dielectric Elastomers (DEs) as Smart Materials
2020Chapter 11 reviews dielectric elastomers (DEs). If rubbery elastomers like a silicone rubber sheet are sandwiched between two compliant electrodes, then any imposed electric field induces electrostatic forces (attraction) between the electrodes. Thus, the rubber sheet in between them can be compressed by the electrostatic forces, which then cause the ...

Rayleigh-Lamb wave propagation in a finitely deformed viscoelastic dielectric elastomer (DE) layer
In recent decades, dielectric elastomers (DEs) have received substantial research interest for dynamics applications as waveguide, which offers an alternative to actively manipulate wave propagation by applying an electric field to the DE medium.Mohaje, Mohammad, Jiang, Liying

Cerebral palsy (CP), the most prevalent motor disorder in children, significantly impairs gait, often due to deficiencies in ankle control. Traditional ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) used in CP management provide passive support but restrict natural ankle motion, resulting in muscle atrophy and limited adaptability.
