Dielectric permittivity superlattice formation

Laser Physics, 2008
A dielectric medium consisting of roughly polarized molecules has been treated as a 3D disordered spin system (spin glass). Having in view the study of the statistical properties of this system on a micrometer scale and nanosecond time scale of a standing electromagnetic wave, a microscopic approach has been developed.

High permittivity dielectrics

2020
Abstract This chapter discusses high permittivity dielectrics such as hafnium oxide and zirconium oxide and how the phonons of such materials, their band and polarization behavior and silicon interact. High permittivity materials are used as dielectrics with semiconductors.

Nonlinearity and Controllability of Dielectric Permittivity

Ukrainian Journal of Physics
Among the various materials used in electronics, an important place is occupied by the functional (smart) dielectrics. In this paper, we study dielectric nonlinearity and the possibility of an electrical control over the permittivity. In ionic compounds, this nonlinearity is conditioned by different electronegativities of neighboring ions, while the ...

Multiscale Model for the Dielectric Permittivity

Zeitschrift für Naturforschung A, 2017
AbstractWe present a generalisation of the Debye relaxation model for the dielectric permittivity in the case in which the global relaxation process is the result of many elementary excitations. The relaxation dynamics is in this case non-Markovian. In the case of many events, for which the central limit theorem holds and Gaussianity as well as the ...

Effective permittivity of dielectric honeycombs

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1999
The effective permittivity of a dielectric honeycomb can be represented by a diagonal permittivity tensor. In the paper, an empirical equation is derived using the FD-TD (finite difference-time domain) method, which defines the diagonal components of the complex permittivity in terms of the honeycomb material permittivity and the fraction of honeycomb ...

High Dielectric Permittivity in Silica–Polyaniline Nanocomposites

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2006
Complex impedance and dielectric permittivity of wide band gap silica-conducting polyaniline nanocomposite have been investigated as a function of frequency and temperature at different compositions. Grain and grain boundary contributions are observed in impedance spectra. The results are interpreted in terms of two series connected equivalent circuit.

Fano resonance in high-permittivity dielectric spheres

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2016
In this paper, an approximate model is presented to understand Fano resonance observed in the Mie scattering from a homogeneous dielectric sphere. By using the model, we can analyze the Fano parameters and resonance widths of the dielectric spheres with given lossless high-permittivity materials.

Features of the dielectric permittivity of the Coulomb system and the true dielectric state

Physical Review E, 2012
Based on the linear response theory and the diagram technique of the perturbation theory, the correlation between the homogeneous and isotropic Coulomb system permittivity features caused by the nonzero static conductivity and the effects of external electrostatic field screening is determined.
