Demonstrating Vibrational Current Generation With a Self‐Assembled Bioelectret

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vacuum‐deposited films of the plant‐derived molecule, Baicalein, form a self‐assembled bioelectret exhibiting spontaneous orientation polarization and a giant surface potential. The films induce alternating current during the vibration of a movable electrode without charging treatments. Hydrocarbon protection enhances the air stability of the Baicalein

Peculiarities of Electric and Dielectric Behavior of Ni- or Fe-Doped ZnO Thin Films Deposited by Atomic Layer Deposition [PDF]

open access: yes
The physical properties of ZnO can be tuned efficiently and controllably by doping with the proper element. Doping of ZnO thin films with 3D transition metals that have unpaired electron spins (e.g., Fe, Co, Ni, etc.) is of particular interest as it may ...

Velocity‐Tunable Exciton‐Photon Hybridization in Cathodoluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transition‐radiation resonances in suspended thin crystals hybridise with excitonic transitions under free‐electron excitation. By tuning the electron energy, the photonic resonances are continuously detuned across the exciton states, enabling controllable exciton–photon hybridisation below the diffraction limit without altering the system geometry ...

Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

An All‐Textile, Mechano‐Capacitive Subtle Movement Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A robust all‐textile capacitive sensor is introduced for measuring subtle body movements without long‐term degradation. By separating mechanical deformation from electrical sensing elements, accuracy, responsiveness, and durability are improved. Simple fabrication methods are presented, electrode effects are analyzed, and performance is validated ...

Water Adsorption‐Induced Color Sensor: Insight Into the Sensing Mechanism and Interfacial Engineering for Improved Responsiveness

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a unique color‐sensing phenomenon of a TiO2/SbSI:Sb2S3 device utilizing X‐ray absorption. Based on the revealed penetration and adsorption of water onto TiO2, we successfully improved the color response speed and sensitivity by incorporating a hydrophilic polymer interlayer, thereby opening up opportunities for photodetection applications ...

Dielectric dynamics of epitaxial BiFeO3 thin films

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
We report the detailed study on the low temperature dielectric dynamics of the epitaxial BiFeO3 thin films grown on Nb-doped SrTiO3 substrate. The results indicate that the contributions from the thin film dominate the dielectric response, although it ...
