Concentrated Platinum‐Gallium Nanoalloy for Hydrogen Production from the Catalytic Steam Reforming of Ethanol

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 15, Issue 1, January 9, 2023., 2023
Bimetallic nanoalloy: Establishment of a bimetallic PtGa nanoalloy supported on MCF‐17 for SRE study at varying temperatures. Higher concentration Ga resulted in the highest formation rate of H2 (3047.2 nmol g−1 sec−1). Ga in electron deficit state in the Pt90Ga10/MCF‐17 enhanced acidity and dehydrogenating properties, which resulted in the highest ...

Application Areas of Ionic Hydraulic Fluids

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 14-20, January 2023., 2023
Ionic liquids as high‐tech technical fluids have also made their way into the field of hydraulic drives. With excellent lubricating properties, a wide temperature range, low pour point and vapor pressure, as well as nonflammability and environmental suitability, problems with only one type of fluid, namely, an ionic hydraulic fluid, instead of using ...

The Effect of Non-Circular Bearing Shapes in Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings on the Vibration Behavior of Turbocharger Structures

open access: yesLubricants, 2017
Increasing quality demands of combustion engines require, amongst others, improvements of the engine’s acoustics and all (sub)components mounted to the latter. A significant impact to the audible tonal noise spectrum results from the vibratory motions of

Experiments and Computational Fluid Dynamics on Vapor and Gas Cavitation for Oil Hydraulics

open access: yesChemical Engineering &Technology, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 147-157, January 2023., 2023
A computational fluid dynamics cavitation model for vapor and gas cavitation in hydraulic oil is presented, parameterized, and validated. For numerous operating points, cavitation in a realistic valve geometry is visualized using shadowgraphs and high‐speed cameras. Vapor and gas cavitation are experimentally separated by complete degassing of the oil.

Macrophage HM13/SPP Enhances Foamy Macrophage Formation and Atherogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Previous research suggests that AIP may prevent atherogenic foamy macrophage formation. This study reveals that AIP, via its chaperone interaction with AHR, inhibits p38‐c‐JUN‐mediated transactivation of HM13, which encodes the ERAD protease HM13/SPP. HM13/SPP promotes foamy macrophage formation in addition to atherogenesis and plaque foamy macrophage ...
