Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Quantitative effects of dietary fat on serum cholesterol in man.

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1965
LTHOUGH many studies demonstrate that changes in the serum cholesterol level may be induced by modifying the amount or composition of dietary fat, the causal factors in oils and fats have not been clearly identified. T\4ajor emphasis has been placed upon

Co‐overexpression of the caloric restriction‐induced mitochondrial factors PGC‐1α and MIPEP upregulates Phospho1 expression in adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

Dietary Fat, Sugar Consumption, and Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Patients With Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is associated with obesity and, indirectly, with unhealthy diet. The role of dietary components in HFpEF is, however, largely unknown.

Dietary cholesterol drives fatty liver-associated liver cancer by modulating gut microbiota and metabolites

open access: yesGut, 2020
Objective Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an increasing healthcare burden worldwide. We examined the role of dietary cholesterol in driving NAFLD–HCC through modulating gut microbiota and its ...

Murine Models and Human Cell Line Models to Study Altered Dynamics of Ovarian Follicles in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The manuscript examines preclinical murine and human models to study polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), delving into the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying altered ovarian follicular dynamics. It explores the cellular interactions involved in normal and PCOS ovaries and outlines the current and novel strategies in the search for preclinical ...

U-shape relationship between change in dietary cholesterol absorptionand plasma lipoprotein responsiveness and evidence for extreme interindividualvariation in dietary cholesterol absorption in humans

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
A possible relationship between change in dietary cholesterol absorptionand plasma lipoprotein responsiveness was examined in 18 normal subjects fed lowfat low cholesterol, high fat low cholesterol, and high fat high cholesteroldiets.
