Dietary composition and overlap between cattle and endangered mountain gazelle (Gazella gazella) [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Israel’s Mediterranean biogeographical region is characterized by high habitat diversity and stark seasonal changes in forage composition, availability and quality.

Dietary niche overlap in a nearshore elasmobranch mesopredator community [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Ecology Progress Series, 2011
Understanding mesopredator trophic interactions is crucial to understanding the dynamics of food webs because mesopredators provide the link between apex predators and lower trophic levels. Using stable isotopic analysis and stomach content analysis, we examined dietary niche overlap within a diverse elasmobranch mesopredator community in Shark Bay ...

Dietary overlap between cattle and chital in the Queensland dry tropics [PDF]

open access: yesThe Rangeland Journal, 2020
Chital deer (Axis axis) are an ungulate species introduced to northern Queensland, Australia, in an environment where land is managed for large scale cattle production. Rainfall and pasture growth are markedly seasonal and cattle experience a nutritional shortfall each year before monsoon rain.

Association between dietary inflammation index and asthma COPD overlap

open access: yesScientific Reports
There are few studies on the relationship between dietary habits and asthma–COPD overlap (ACO). In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between dietary inflammation index (DII) score and ACO.

Dietary overlap of carcharhinid sharks in the Gulf of Papua [PDF]

open access: yesMarine and Freshwater Research, 2022
Assessing the feeding patterns of sharks provides insight into ecological interactions. Three coastal sharks are common by-catch in the Gulf of Papua prawn fishery in Papua New Guinea. The diets of Carcharhinus coatesi (n = 122), Rhizoprionodon acutus (n = 83) and Rhizoprionodon taylori (n = 177) were assessed using stomach content analysis.

Limited dietary overlap amongst resident Arctic herbivores in winter: complementary insights from complementary methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Snow may prevent Arctic herbivores from accessing their forage in winter, forcing them to aggregate in the few patches with limited snow. In High Arctic Greenland, Arctic hare and rock ptarmigan often forage in muskox feeding craters.

The Overlap of Dietary Supplement and Pharmaceutical Use in the MIDUS National Study [PDF]

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2014
Introduction. In the United States, dietary supplement (DS) use is common, often takes place outside of the purview of health care providers, and may involve DS in combination with pharmaceuticals. This situation has led to concerns about interactions between DS and pharmaceuticals, as well as the risks from polypharmacy and polysupplement use. Methods.

Dietary overlap and partitioning among three sympatric carcharhinid sharks [PDF]

open access: yesEndangered Species Research, 2014
We used stomach content and stable isotope analyses to compare diet as a proxy for ecological similarity among 3 tropical sharks, Carcharhinus leucas, C. amboinensis and the Endangered Glyphis spp. Our analyses suggested that all 3 predators consumed mainly teleost fishes but also preyed on crustaceans, cephalopods and reptiles.

DIETARY OVERLAP BETWEEN WOLVES AND COYOTES IN NORTHWESTERN MONTANA [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mammalogy, 2002
Abstract We studied effects of recolonizing wolves (Canis lupus) in the North Fork of the Flathead area of northwestern Montana on the diets of coyotes (C. latrans) from 1994 to 1997. Wolf and coyote diets differed in frequency of occurrence of prey species during 3 of the 4 summers and winters (P 45 kg) prey species and coyotes, small (

Food Composition and Dietary Overlap of the Lionfish Species in Iskenderun Bay

open access: yesNatural and Engineering Sciences, 2022
The food composition and dietary overlap of the Pterois volitans and P. miles were studied in the İskenderun Bay. The main prey groups found in the stomachs of the P. volitans and P. miles were fishes and crustaceans. The study has shown that the Niche overlap-Pianka's index of these species was 83,2%.
