A Posteriori Dietary Patterns: How Many Patterns to Retain?

Decisions on how many patterns to extract are primarily based on subjective criteria, whereas different solutions vary in their food-group composition and perhaps association with disease outcome.

Diet play an important role in the development of cancer. A lot of research has been done on the role of individual nutrients or phytochemicals and cancer risk. Both harmful and beneficial associations of this nutrient have been observed with cancer. However, there is an interaction of individual dietary constituents to influence disease risk.

Dietary patterns in anorexia nervosa
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1984This study characterized the dietary patterns of 96 patients with anorexia nervosa who were seen for diet history. The mean age of the patients was 16.6 yr, and mean loss from preillness weight was 28%. Twenty-five patients ate high-quality meals regularly but simply restricted calories.

The results showed that: urban people should adjust the structure of their diet, to level down the increasing trend of animal food, as a replacement, more soybean consumption should be encouraged.
