Reaction of diethyl (phthalimidoacetyl)malonate with hydroxylamine

Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 1978
AbstractThe reaction of diethyl (phthalimidoacetyl)malonate with hydroxylamine was investigated. Depending upon the reaction conditions, N‐phthaloylglycinehydroxamic acid (2) and the cyclized product, 4‐ethoxycarbonyl‐5‐hydroxy‐3‐(phthalimidomethyl)isoxazole (4), were obtained.

Detritiation of diethyl [2-3H1] malonate

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1976
Rate constants for the base-catalysed detritiation of diethyl malonate have been determined in aqueous solution. Various indicators of transition state structure, such as primary hydrogen isotope effects, Bronsted β exponent, rates of ion recombination, and solvent isotope effects all give consistent picture.

Solvent effects in the hydrolysis of diethyl malonate

Tetrahedron, 1970
Abstract Kinetic studies of hydrolysis of diethyl malonate in aqueous DMSO, aqueous dioxan, and aqueous acetonitrile are reported. It has been observed for the first time that in up to 25% of DMSO there is a decrease in rate with increase in DMSO, and later the reaction rate increases with increase in the percentage of DMSO.

The Deazidoalkoxylation: Sequential Nucleophilic Substitutions with Diazidated Diethyl Malonate

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
Diazidated malonamides derived from amines and diazidated diethyl malonate react with lithiated alcohols through nucleophilic substitution reactions where azide acts as an unconventional leaving group. This deazidoalkoxylation leads to the formal construction of N, O-acetals, and the remaining azide functionality is a useful entry point for further ...

Dialkylation and methoxyalkylation of butadiene with diethyl malonate anions

Tetrahedron Letters, 1981
Abstract Butadiene has been transformed into diethyl 2,7-diethoxycarbonyl-4-octenedioates and ethyl 2-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methoxy-4-hexenoates by reacting π-4-chloro- and 4-methoxybutenylpalladium complexes, respectively, with malonate anions.

Research of technique for synthesizing carbonyl diethyl malonate

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2011
Diethyl malonate being an initial raw material, processed with chlorination-replacement-desalination-vacuum rectification, is used to produce carbonyl diethyl malonate. An experiment for optimization determines that the best reaction condition was: ① reaction for 7 h at 10 °C with mole-ratio being 2.4:1 between chloride and raw material (diethyl ...
