Diethyl (Tetrahydrofurfuryl) Malonate

1959
A 150-ml shaking autoclave A (Fig. 2) was charged with 30 g (0.125 mole) of freshly distilled diethyl furfurylidenemalonate (see p. 35), b.p. 147–148°/2 mm, 45 ml of anhydrous ethanol (Note 1), and 2.5–3 g (3–3.6% of the total amount of solution) of Raney nickel catalyst (Note 2), With the autoclave valves B and C closed, the outlet valve D of the ...

Transformations of diethyl mono- and di(?-chloroallyl)malonates

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1971
In the reaction between γ-chloro-δ-hydroxy-γ-valerolactone and potassium phthalimide in dimethylformamide, γ-phthalimido-δ-hydroxyγ-valerolactone is formed, alkaline hydrolysis of which gives δ-hydroxylevulinic acid. It is shown that oxidation of di(β-chloroallyl)malonic acid with hydrogen peroxide in acetic acid gives the dilactone of bis(δ-hydroxy-γ ...

Bubble points measurement for (triethyl orthoformate+diethyl malonate)

The Journal of Chemical Thermodynamics, 2004
Abstract The bubble points for (triethyl orthoformate + diethyl malonate) at T = (373.15, 383.15, and 393.15) K and at p = 13.33 kPa, measured with an inclined ebulliometer are presented. The experimental results are analyzed using the UNIQUAC equation with the temperature-dependent binary parameters with satisfactory results.

Synthesis and Crystal Structure Analysis of Substituted Diethyl Malonate

Journal of Chemical Crystallography, 2011
As intermediates of light stabilizer malonate, diethyl 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl phenyl malonates (F.W. 454.58) was synthesized, characterized by 1H NMR, element analysis and confirmed by X-ray crystal structure analysis. This compound crystallizes in monoclinic class under the space group P21/c with cell parameters, a = 9.8218(4) A, b = 13.5571(5)
