PROTEOMICS, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Protein phosphorylation regulates key events of male germ cell differentiation. In the testis, SRPK1 and PP1γ are involved in protamine phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, respectively, and their deregulation is linked to defective chromatin structure and male infertility.
