Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Diffusion-kurtosis magnetic resonance imaging of the brain in the differential diagnostics of metastases of tumors of various primary localization [PDF]
Background: Metastatic brain lesions lead to the most unfavorable prognosis for the course of an oncological disease. Most often, brain metastases arise from primary tumors such as lung cancer, breast cancer, and melanoma.

Analytically Solvable Differential Diffusion Equations Describing the Intermediate Phase Growth
Analytical method to solve differential diffusion equations describing the growth of the phase wedge during the intermetallic-compound formation with a narrow concentration range of homogeneity in bicrystals is proposed.

HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Even and Odd Self-Similar Solutions of the Diffusion Equation for Infinite Horizon
In the description of transport phenomena, diffusion represents an important aspect. In certain cases, the diffusion may appear together with convection. In this paper, we study the diffusion equation with the self-similar Ansatz.

Fokker--Planck and Kolmogorov Backward Equations for Continuous Time Random Walk scaling limits
It is proved that the distributions of scaling limits of Continuous Time Random Walks (CTRWs) solve integro-differential equations akin to Fokker-Planck Equations for diffusion processes.

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

On Nonlinear Dynamics of the STAT5a Signaling Protein
In this paper we model the dynamics of the cross talk between MEK/ERK and JAK/STAT signaling pathways by means of nonlinear ordinary differential equations.

Efficient solver for a special class of convection-diffusion problems
We describe an exact and highly efficient numerical algorithm for solving a special but important class of convection-diffusion equations. These equations occur in many problems in physics, chemistry, or biology, and they are usually hard to treat due to

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...
