Affine differential geometry of osculating hypersurfaces

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2012
Osculating surfaces of second order have been studied in classical affine differential geometry [1].  In this article we generalize this notion to osculating hypersurfaces of higher order of hypersurfaces in Euclidean n-space.

Fundamentals for Symplectic $\mathcal{A}$-modules [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
Sheaf theoretically based Abstract Differential Geometry incorporates and generalizes all the classical differential geometry. Here, we undertake to partially explore the implications of Abstract Differential Geometry to classical symplectic geometry. The full investigation will be presented elsewhere.

Enhanced dose prediction for head and neck cancer artificial intelligence‐driven radiotherapy based on transfer learning with limited training data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Training deep learning dose prediction models for the latest cutting‐edge radiotherapy techniques, such as AI‐based nodal radiotherapy (AINRT) and Daily Adaptive AI‐based nodal radiotherapy (DA‐AINRT), is challenging due to limited data.

Left hippocampus sparing model for glioblastoma radiotherapy by utilizing knowledge‐based planning and multi‐criteria optimization

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Results of a prospective, randomized controlled trial at our institute demonstrate an association between the dose to the left hippocampus and neurocognitive decline post‐radiotherapy for patients with glioblastoma. To minimize the dose to the left hippocampus, a left hippocampus sparing model was created using RapidPlan (RP) and multi‐

Creep Characterization of Inconel 718 Lattice Metamaterials Manufactured by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
Herein, the creep characteristics of additively manufactured Inconel 718 metamaterials are investigated. The creep behavior of metamaterials and the effects of microstructural defects are assessed, and the microstructure defects are accurately captured using Kachanov's creep damage model.

Differential Geometry of Microlinear Frolicher Spaces II [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
In this paper, as the second in our series of papers on differential geometry of microlinear Frolicher spaces, we study differenital forms. The principal result is that the exterior differentiation is uniquely determined geometrically, just as grad (ient), div (ergence) and rot (ation) are uniquely determined geometrically or physically in classical ...

IROC phantoms accurately detect MLC delivery errors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose We evaluated the impact of random and whole‐bank multileaf collimator (MLC) delivery errors on dosimetric delivery accuracy in the Imaging and Radiation Oncology Core (IROC) phantom audits, as well as differences in delivery accuracy between the IROC phantom prescription and typical clinical fraction sizes.

Conceptual Design and Parametric Optimization of a New Multileveled Horsetail Structure for Bicycle Helmets

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView., 2023
This study aims to explore the feasibility of using a structure inspired by the features of horsetail and human spine as the potential helmet liner, targeting at mitigation of acceleration‐induced injuries. A parametric study is conducted to investigate the effect of individual geometrical variables in the design, indicating its capability to reduce ...

The Lie algebra of the group of bisections [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
Groupoids provide a more appropriate framework for differential geometry than principal bundles. Synthetic differential geometry is the avant-garde branch of differential geometry, in which nilpotent infinitesimals are available in abundance. The principal objective in this paper is to show within our favorite framework of synthetic differential ...

The effect of kV imaging dose on PTV and OAR planning constraints in lung SBRT using stereoscopic/monoscopic real‐time tumor‐monitoring system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Quantify the impact of additional imaging doses on clinical dose constraints during lung stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) treatment utilizing stereoscopic/monoscopic real‐time tumor monitoring. Materials and Methods Thirty lung SBRT patients treated with the volumetric arc therapy technique were randomly selected from the ...
