Differential Group Delay Measurement in Spun Birefringent Uncoupled Multicore Fibers
2025 European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC)Experimental measurements of the local birefringence of spun multi-core fibers are presented and related to differential group delay measurements. Results, supported also by numerical simulations, show how spin can effectively reduce the differential group delay also in multi-core fibers, if properly designed.

Comparison of optical PMD compensation using a variable and fixed differential group delays
Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001Polarization mode dispersion compensation with dynamic tracking is investigated by modeling. An optical compensator using a variable differential group delay can alleviate the local minimum problem and provide superior performance compared to a fixed-delay compensator.
